A note to begin with

Why this little corner of the internet?

Because a useful discovery deserves somewhere to live after the browser tabs close.

I have a lot of interests. Law and photography are part of my working life. Music, board games, video games, driving sims, and magic are things I enjoy. AI has become another subject to explore, and a way to try making some of the things I wish existed.

These subjects keep crossing paths. A music project becomes a question about software. A photography tool becomes a question about judgment. A game that should be relaxing becomes a small investigation into what changed since the last time it worked.

I want somewhere to put the useful parts of those investigations.

Some things I’ve figured out. Some I’m still figuring out.

A short note can be enough: what went wrong, what I tried, what made the difference. Other subjects need more space. Why would I build a tool for a hobby? Does it make the hobby more enjoyable? How do I decide whether an automated result is actually good?

The failed attempts belong here too. When I read someone else’s account of fixing a problem, the detail I often need is the thing that didn’t work—and the clue that made them try something different.

Enough detail to be useful.

I want these pieces to explain the method clearly. For technical articles, that means clean examples, sample files, and the details needed to understand a decision. Private accounts, client information, and the particulars of my live systems can stay private.

And there should be room for pieces that don’t teach anything at all. A game I want to play again. Something I notice while making a photograph. A song I’m enjoying learning.

That’s the idea for this notebook. Follow an interest far enough to find something worth keeping, then leave a few notes for the next person.
